LARGEST SERVING OF PARMIGIANA.
On August 7, 2010, Nuova Solidarietà (Italy) served up 833 lb 5 oz (378 kg) of the Italian dish parmigiana in Reggio Calabria, Italy.

MOST PIZZAS MADE IN 24 HOURS (TEAM).
A team from Domino’s Pizza #8209, including owners Bob and Tina Leikam (all USA), made 6,838 pizzas in a day in Taft, California, USA, on October 22–23, 2010.

LARGEST PIZZA COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE.
Available on the menu at Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria in Los Angeles, California, USA, is an enormous 4-ft 6-in-wide (1.37-m) square pizza.Retailing T $199.99 plus tax, this mammoth meal can feed up to 100 people and can be ordered for delivery - as long as you give the pizzeria 24 hours’ notice. Have a pizza that! - Too vast even for Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria, the largest pizza ever baked was 122 ft 8 in (37.4 m) across and weighed over 13 tons (12 tonnes). It was made at Norwood Hypermarket in Norwood, South Africa, on December 8, 1990.

LARGEST CHEESE PLATTER.
On November 24, 2010, a 40-cheese platter weighing 2,474 lb 11 oz (1,122.5 kg) was prepared at the World Cheese Awards at the NEC in Birmingham, UK.

MOST EXPENSIVE HOT DOG.
The Foot-Long Haute Dog sells for $69 at Serendipity 3 in New York City, USA. Introduced on July 23, 2010 – US National Hot Dog Day – this fantastic frankfurter is served in a pretzel bun topped with foie gras and black truffles. The record-breaking snack also comes with specially prepared premium condiments.

LARGEST SERVING OF CURRYWURST.
A currywurst – a pork sausage flavored with curry powder – weighing 386 lb 4 oz (175.2 kg) and 1,049 ft 10 in (320 m) in length was made by kitchen technologists MKN (Germany) in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, on April 30, 2010. FAST FOOD! - It would take Usain Bolt (Jamaica) – the world’s fastest man – about 30 seconds to run the entire length of the largest currywurst.


HIGH-FLYING FOOD.
The highest pancake toss measured 30 ft 1 in (9.17 m) and was thrown by Dominic Cuzzacrea (USA) at the Palace Theater in Lockport, New York, USA, on June 22, 2010.

LARGEST POT OF BEANS.
A pot filled with 841 gal (3,825.7 liters) of baked beans – or more than 9,000 regular cans – was prepared at the Alabama Butterbean Festival in Pinson, Alabama, USA, on September 4, 2010.

LARGEST SALAD.
A serving of Greek salad measuring 82 ft (25 m) in length was prepared by KEDI, the Public Benefit Municipal Enterprise of Ierapetra, on the Greek island of Crete on June 19, 2010. This super-sized salad weighed a record 29,579 lb (13,417 kg).

LARGEST HAMBURGER.
The largest commercially available hamburger weighs 300 lb 4 oz (136.2 kg). It was available for 150,000 yen ($1,780.59) at the Phoenix Seagaia Resort in Miyazaki, Japan, as of July 4, 2009. This is the cooked-weight equivalent of a gut-busting 796 quarterpounders!

LARGEST MEATBALL.
A meatball weighing 749 lb 9 oz (340 kg) and with a diameter of 5 ft 3 in (1.6 m) was prepared by Spieckermann BAU GmbH (Germany) during a staff picnic at their premises in Essen-Dellwig, Germany, on May 29, 2010.

LARGEST OPEN SANDWICH.
A bun weighing 1,337 lb (606.45 kg) was prepared by Moore’s BBQ (USA) in New Bern, North Carolina, USA, on July 4, 2010. The sandwich, made to celebrate Moore’s 300th anniversary, measured 8 ft 9 in (2.6 m) x 7 ft 9 in (2.37 m) and contained 586 lb (265.81 kg) of pork.

LARGEST BOWL OF PORRIDGE.
A bowl containing 1,388 lb 14 oz (630 kg) of porridge was prepared by Cupar Round Table in association with Scott’s Porage Oats (both UK) during the Cupar Highland Games in Cupar, Scotland, UK, on July 4, 2010.

LARGEST BURRITO.
A vast burrito prepared by CANIRAC La Paz in Baja California Sur, Mexico, on November 3, 2010, measured 1.5 miles (2.4 km) long and weighed a record 12,785 lb (5,799 kg). Despite translating from the Spanish as “little donkey,” the burrito contained the typical ingredients of fish, onions, chilis, and beans.

LARGEST CHOCOLATE BAR.
On September 10, 2010, the Grand Candy Company of Yerevan, Armenia, unveiled a 9,722-lb (4,410-kg) chocolate bar – enough chocolate to make a solid cube with sides 5 ft (1.5 m) long!

LARGEST ICE-CREAM CONE.
An ice-cream cone measuring 9 ft 2.6 in (2.81 m) tall was created over a period of 30 hours by Mirco Della Vecchia and Andrea Andrighetti (both Italy) at the Rimini Fair in Rimini, Italy, on January 21–22, 2011.

LARGEST CREAM-FILLED BISCUIT.
The largest cream-filled biscuit (Custard Cream) measures 1 ft 11.2 in x 1 ft 3.3 in x 2.5 in (59 x 39 x 6.5 cm) and weighs 34 ib 10.8 oz (15.7 kg). It was crafted by Executive Chef Paul Thacker and amateur biscuit master Simon (both UK) in the Chino Latino’s restaurant in Park Plaza, Nottingham, UK, on November 18, 2010 for Guinness World Records Day 2010. Cookie auction - The colossal Custard Cream took 11 hours to make and was inspired by Simon’s cookie-loving children Jack, Sam, and Olivia. It was auctioned for charity, raising £410 ($646) for Children in Need.

LARGEST FALAFEL.
Chef Ramzi Choueiri and students of Al-Kafaat University (all Lebanon) produced the largest serving of falafel – a total weight of 11,404 lb 8 oz (5,173 kg) – in Beirut, Lebanon, on May 9, 2010. The largest falafel ball, however, was prepared two weeks later by the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York and the Olympic Pita Restaurant (both USA) and weighed 24 lb (10.89 kg)!

LARGEST OMELETTE.
A 9,702-lb 8-oz (4.4–ton) omelette made from 110,000 eggs was served by Yum-Bir (the Turkish Egg Producers Association) and the Pruva Neta tourist agency (both Turkey) at the Cepa shopping mall in Ankara, Turkey, on October 8, 2010.

HEAVIEST POTATO.
Peter Glazebrook (UK) is a 10-time Guinness World Record-breaker and the current holder of three giant vegetable records. In 2010, he presented a potato at the Shepton Mallet big veg competition in Somerset, UK, that tipped the scales at 8 lb 4 oz (3.76 kg) – the weight of a newborn baby!

MOST TOMATOES FROM ONE PLANT.
Graham Tranter of Bridgnorth in Shropshire, UK, grew a single tomato stem (or “truss”) that yielded a record 488 tomatoes when counted during the October 2010 harvest. Green-fingered Graham beat his own record, set the previous year at 304 tomatoes.

LARGEST COCKTAIL.
Imagine a cocktail large enough to swim in. This is what Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant and Rosangel Tequila (both USA) created in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, with their 6,350-gal (28,871-liter) margarita on October 15, 2010 – enough to fill a bathtub every day for a year.

MOST COCKTAILS AVAILABLE.
The menu of Pench’s Cocktail Bar in Varna, Bulgaria, listed 1,244 separate cocktails as of September 23, 2010. Also on the list, but not included in the record count, are 44 nonalcoholic cocktails.

FASTEST TIME TO SHELL A BOILED EGG.

Serial record-breaker Alastair Galpin (New Zealand) took 18.95 seconds to shell one unpricked boiled egg at the Trusts Stadium in Waitakere, Auckland, New Zealand, on November 14, 2009.

LARGEST SUSHI MOSAIC.
Featuring 8,374 pieces of sushi, and using 264 lb 8 oz (120 kg) of rice and 143 lb 4 oz (65 kg) of salmon, cod, mackerel, and prawns, the largest sushi mosaic is 216.67 ft2 (20.13 m2) in area. It was created by the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (Norway) with the help of the student chefs from Zhonghua Vocational School in Shanghai (China) at the 2010 World Expo Shanghai China, on October 15, 2010.

AVERAGE LIFE FACT.
75 tons of food you will eat in a lifetime. If you bought it all in one mammoth shopping trip, it would fill 1,511 shopping carts, forming a line 0.7 miles long at the checkout.
